Following on from previous cultural events, YPCE in collaboration with the Showroom Cinema, was proud to present the first cinemaPalestino in Sheffield: a short season of films exploring issues that affect us all - falling in love, making a home, caring for family and freedom - but under the shadow of military occupation that distorts all aspects of daily life for the people of Palestine. cinemaPalestino is a celebration of Palestinian culture through drama and documentary film - despite 60 years of unimaginable oppression, Palestinians have retained a vital, creative and powerful identity. See below for 2009 Film details. Haim talked of how the suppression of the Palestinian story must be stopped and how film can play a role in giving voice to this story. These films, produced in awful conditions, at a phenomenal rate and of high quality, are ambassadors of Palestinian culture.
